Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 26, 2026

1. Overview

FilterBoss (“FilterBoss,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) provides recurring home filter subscriptions and optional installation services. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using filterboss.net (the “Service”), you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information we collect

We collect information in three ways:

  • Information you give us — your name, email address, shipping address, phone number, filter sizing details, and installation preferences when you create an account or place an order.
  • Information from payments — when you subscribe, our payment processor (Stripe) collects your card details. FilterBoss never sees or stores your full card number; we only retain the last 4 digits, card brand, and expiration for receipts.
  • Information collected automatically — device type, browser, approximate location, pages visited, and timestamps. We use this to keep the site running and detect abuse.

3. How we use your information

  • To fulfill your subscription and ship the right filter on the right schedule.
  • To coordinate installation appointments if you choose Pro Install.
  • To send transactional email — order confirmations, sign-in links, renewal reminders, and shipping updates.
  • To answer support questions and improve the Service.
  • To detect fraud, comply with law, and enforce our Terms.

4. Third parties we share with

We only share data with vendors that help us run FilterBoss. We never sell your personal information.
  • Stripe — processes subscription payments.
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) — hosting, database (RDS), and email delivery (SES).
  • Google — optional “Sign in with Google” authentication.
  • Calendly — only if you book a professional installation.
  • Shipping carriers — to deliver your filters.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a merger or acquisition.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies to keep you signed in, remember your cart, and measure site performance. You can disable cookies in your browser, but signing in won't work without them.

6. Email communications

We send transactional emails for account activity (sign-in links, order confirmations, renewal reminders) — these are required to operate the Service and can't be opted out of while you have an active subscription. Marketing emails (if any) include a one-click unsubscribe link.

7. Data retention

We keep account information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for tax, compliance, and dispute-resolution purposes. You can request deletion of your account at any time by emailing hello@filterboss.net.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate information.
  • Delete your information (subject to legal retention requirements).
  • Opt out of marketing communications.
  • Export your data in a portable format.
To exercise these rights, email us at hello@filterboss.net.

9. Children

FilterBoss is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we'll delete it.

10. Security

We use TLS encryption for data in transit, encrypted storage for databases, and standard access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we take protecting your information seriously.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy occasionally. We'll post the new version here with a revised “Last updated” date. Significant changes will be sent to your account email.

12. Contact us
